The Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) is an independent charity, professional body and Centre of Excellence – established to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for babies, children, families and communities through a strengthened health visiting service.
We do this in a wide variety of ways, including education and training, research, publications, digital resources and toolkits, professional development, and innovative projects to address key public health challenges. Our work helps support health visiting teams across the UK to provide the best possible care to the thousands of families that they support every week.

Our Evidence-based Practice Conference “A Healthier Future” will be held at King’s House Conference Centre in Manchester on 3 July 2024. King’s House is one of the finest conference venues in Manchester and offers fabulous facilities which will enable extensive exhibition time with our delegates.
Our conference will provide a platform for local, national, and international experts and speakers to come together and share excellence in health visiting practice, innovation and the latest research to address health inequalities.
Our conference will provide an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to engage directly with health visitors, health visiting team members, leaders and commissioners. This will enable exhibitors to promote their organisation and products to our conference delegates and support their public health work with babies, children and families.
iHV Leadership Conference
The Institute of Health Visiting’s annual leadership conference has become an important date in the calendar for health visitors to come together and celebrate the very best of health visiting and the difference it makes to babies, young children and families.
With high profile national and international speakers, the event attracts delegates from across the public health and early years sector, and is aimed at health visiting leaders, aspiring leaders, commissioners, service providers and policy makers. This conference always receives excellent feedback from delegates who report that they leave feeling re-energised and reconnected following a packed agenda of inspirational speakers.
