Safer Sleep for your Baby

Thankfully, the number of sudden infant deaths have fallen by 79% since the launch of an awareness campaign in the early 1990s. But 240 babies still die each year (that is 5 babies a week in the UK), suddenly and unexpectedly where no clear cause is found – known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or (SIDS).

While no single likely cause has been identified, experts know there are a number of risk factors and preventative measures that parents can take to ensure their babies are sleeping as safely as possible.

On the attached document are expert guidelines from the Lullaby Trust which explain how to ensure you follow safe sleeping practices with your baby.
