Childhood cancer: spotting the signs and symptoms

Childhood cancer is more common than we may think. Each year in the UK, almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. This approximates at around a 1 in 500 chance of developing cancer by the age of 14 (CRUK, 2016). These Good Practice Points, written by Dr Jennifer Kelly, GP and founder of the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust for childhood cancer and awareness. Jennifer Kelly is a GP, founder of the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust and bereaved parent. The Trust was set up in memory of 4 year old Grace who passed away from cancer in 2014.

These Good Practice Points will support health visitors by giving them information about the possible signs and symptoms of cancer in children.
