Contemporary Issues in Safeguarding and Child Protection Champions Training

(awaiting review)

We are continuing to offer our highly acclaimed ‘Champions’ training programme, which offers participants the opportunity to take up a cascade training role for their organisation.

The over-arching aim of the iHV safeguarding and child protection programme is to support the development of authoritative practice, delivered by professionals who are skilled in making complex assessments.

Highly interactive and delivered as experiential learning (based around group work, interactive power-point presentations and audio-visual presentations, suggested reading and further activities) this programme recognises that participants will have prior learning and experience and therefore seeks to ensure that these are both acknowledged and shared.

Note: the programme is designed to complement and not to replace the wealth of learning and improvement activities in safeguarding and child protection that are already taking place at a local level.

What others thought...

Very useful and productive two-day training; I particularly likes the critical appraisal especially on day one when we looked at various safeguarding issues. I have now gained an appreciation of authoritative practice and I most certainly plan to develop a low threshold to child concern. January 2015
