Directorate Manager for Children’s Services
Alis is a highly experienced healthcare leader with a strong clinical foundation in paediatric nursing, school nursing, and health visiting. As the current Directorate Manager for Children’s Services, she provides strategic oversight and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the Black Country.
Alis previously served as Divisional Lead for Health Visiting in Birmingham, where she was responsible for the clinical quality, safety, and effectiveness of service delivery. Her leadership has consistently focused on improving outcomes for children and families, with a strong emphasis on reducing health inequalities.
A prestigious Mary Seacole Leadership Scholar, Alis led an award-winning project in collaboration with local communities and health visitors, addressing perinatal mental health and health inequalities, demonstrating her commitment to innovative, community-led solutions in public health. She is a regular contributor to the local radio, using this platform to engage the public on key health issues and promote awareness across her community.
Currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Population Health, Alis is exploring the use of Appreciative Inquiry as a methodology to co-produce solutions with communities, particularly in tackling entrenched health inequalities.
