Vicky Gilroy and Dr Sharin Baldwin from the iHV are co-applicants on this NIHR-funded programme with University College London – Great Ormond Street Hospital Institute of Child Health, De Montfort University, Queen Mary University of London, and Flinders University. The programme will co-design a cross-sector, culturally grounded parenting intervention for refugee and asylum-seeking families, aiming to improve safety, health, and development for children under five.
The iHV is leading on a work package that includes:
- a scoping review of Refugee and Asylum-seeking families’ (with children under 5 years) access to and experience of the Healthy Child Programme
- a survey of health visitors’ experience of working with refugee and asylum-seeking families, to identify training needs and service gaps.
The study concludes in March 2027.
