Programme Aim

To equip safeguarding supervisors with research-based knowledge and practical skills to manage safeguarding supervision effectively across diverse fields of practice, ensuring a baby/child/young person/individual/family-focused approach.

Participants will become Safeguarding Supervision Champions, promoting authentic safeguarding supervision and acting as place-based leaders to raise awareness among peers and colleagues.

Programme Objectives

  1. Critical Reflection
  • Explore participants’ own experiences of safeguarding supervision.
  • Examine perceptions of what constitutes an effective safeguarding supervision process.
  1. Knowledge Enhancement
  • Deepen understanding of safeguarding supervision principles.
  • Learn about models and frameworks used to engage supervisees effectively.
  1. Person-centred Practice
  • Embed a person-centred focus in supervision.
  • Engage in reflective processes to assess supervision delivery and its impact on practice.
  1. Evidence-based Implementation
  • Equip participants to deliver, evaluate, and promote an authentic, structured model of safeguarding supervision.
  • Ensure the model is evidence-based and supports all stakeholders (supervisor, supervisee, baby/child/family/individual).
