Perinatal Mental Health Champions Training
We are continuing to offer our highly acclaimed ‘Champions’ training programme, which offers participants the opportunity to take up a cascade training role for their organisation. Over 500 Perinatal Mental Health Champions have been created in Health Visiting, who in turn have trained upwards of 9000 public health practitioners. In 2015 the iHV modified its acclaimed programme in order to create new Champions in other professions and successfully delivered training to new groups of professionals, including obstetricians, midwives, social workers and early year’s workers.
The training addresses the subject in greater depth than our awareness training – and is suited to practitioners who have daily contact with families where perinatal mental illness is present.
After attending the training you will become your organisation’s local Perinatal Mental Health Champion. You will be given the tools, information and support to cascade the training to your colleagues in order to become a local resource for this area of practice.
