Jane Williams worked in the NHS for forty-nine years before her retirement in February 2015. For ten years before her retirement she was Head of Children, Young People and Family Services for Warwickshire.
Since retiring Jane has kept busy on various projects and has continued to focus on health visiting and early intervention. As well as being a Trustee of the iHV, she is chair of The Parenting Project in Warwickshire, she is the Safeguarding Officer at Coventry Cathedral and a member of the Council of the Friends of Coventry Cathedral. Over the past two years she has been a member of the Strong Start Commission which submitted its findings and recommendations about early years and early intervention to the Inter-Ministerial Group.
Jane is also a Trustee of Share, a charity that has been working in Romania since 1994. The project was set up to empower women and to reduce the number of abandoned babies. Jane continues to visit Romania several times a year.
