Public Health England Annual Conference 2016 – bookings open

Public Health England’s annual conference takes place from 13 to 14 September 2016 at the University of Warwick.

The Public Health England annual conference 2016 will bring together over 1400 participants from a wide range of organisations, to learn, network and share knowledge and experience.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Evidence into action’. The conference will promote and showcase the application and translation of science and research, to support effective local and national action to improve public health. Keynote speakers will include the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health and Jane Ellison MP, Minister for Public Health.

Inaugural Infant Mental Health Week – 6-10 June 2016

The Institute of Health Visiting is supporting PIP UK (Parent Infant Partnership UK) in its Inaugural Infant Mental Health Week taking place 6-10 June including a Conference on 9 June.

PIP UK provides the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Early Years which published the 1001 Critical Days Manifesto and the Great Britain’s report. This will be an exciting opportunity to raise the profile of infant mental health and increase public awareness of its importance.

Call for abstracts – The 4th international global network of public health nursing conference

We welcome abstracts on different perspectives within Public Health. Abstract submission is free of charge.
Accepted abstracts will be presented as short oral presentations as well as posters. All abstracts will be published in the proceedings book of the conference. the proceedings book will also be available on the website after the conference.
Abstract submission is open from 1st of December 2015. Deadline for abstract submission is 15th of April 2016.
The submitting author will receive an acknowledgement per e-mail. Abstract acceptance will be notified by May 15th 2016.

Inspiring iHV Annual Event

“Fantastic”, “Inspiring”, “Great networking”, “Great to share experiences” – these comments were amongst the feedback from the iHV Fellows meeting and third Annual Event, which took place on Monday 7 December.

With over 130 delegates, including key figures from the world of health visiting and iHV guests, the event was held to celebrate great health visiting and the Institute’s third year.

iHV Third annual event

iHV Perinatal Mental Health Conference in association with RSPH – Perinatal Mental Health, a priority for public health

It is now known that perinatal mental illness can have significant long term public health and societal consequences when it goes undiagnosed and without intervention.

This conference is a joint event from the Institute of Health Visiting and their founding partner the Royal Society for Public Health. This conference will consider the effects of perinatal mental illness ante and postnatally on the infant, the mother, the father and on society and how these can be reduced. It will also share some important new national developments in the field which have been designed to reduce its impact. The day will take a public health perspective to a very common condition suffered by at least one in seven mothers.
