Newly qualified health visitors – Helen Muncey, Debbie Cowling, Kara Nicholson and Hannah Cherry, based in Cambourne and Longstanton, are launching a toddler trail at Milton Country Park, Cambridgeshire.
This is a community led initiative to improve the health in pre-school children and their families through walking together and benefiting from exercise, social interaction and sharing an outdoor experience.
Helen says:
Initially we discussed with families at universal contacts what they would like as a community project and what they felt was lacking in their community. There was general consensus that the community would benefit from an outdoor activity.
The launch date for the Toddler trail is Wednesday 2nd April 2014 at Milton Country Park. The starting point is outside the park café at 10:30. The trail will be 1 hour duration which will include walking and activities.
The health visitors will initially attend and support this weekly activity. The aim is for health visitors to withdraw and hand over to the community in June 2014.
