Today, Action for Children launches the final one in their Beyond the Building briefing series on the future of children’s centres.
The series considers how centres are now innovating and adapting to the environment they are working within, making recommendations on how to support centres and where to focus resources.
This final briefing in the series looks at the changing way centres are organised and working across local communities.
Action for Children recommends that adopting flexible approaches to delivery can help to retain capacity. In particular, centres should keep open access services for very young children by creating strong links with health visitors and childcare provision. They are also calling for an outcomes framework to effectively direct resources toward ensuring all children reach a good level of development by age five.
