This webinar is on Thursday 20 March 2025 (join from 3:15pm to allow a prompt start) 3:30pm to 4:30pm.
This is open to all members.
Vaccination is one of the greatest public health interventions in history. It has saved hundreds of millions of lives by preventing infectious diseases, reducing childhood mortality, and increasing life expectancy worldwide.
Childhood vaccination rates in the UK have been declining in recent years, falling short of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended 95% coverage necessary for herd immunity. The decline in vaccination rates has led to a resurgence of preventable diseases such as measles and whooping cough. Ensuring high vaccination coverage is essential to protect pregnant women, babies, children and communities from preventable diseases.
Join us at our next iHV Insights event: “Protecting lives: Health Visitors’ role in vaccination success” where we will explore the vital role of the health visitor in improving the uptake of vaccinations across the UK.
Our expert panel includes:
- Dr Julie Yates, Deputy Director Immunisation Programmes at UKHSA, who will be sharing the national data and policy context of vaccinations, including core elements of the Child Health Action Plan
- Dr Helen Campbell, Lead Scientist in the Immunisation Division at UKHSA, who will be sharing their research about what parents think about the routine vaccination programme
- Speaker to be confirmed
This Insights event is an opportunity to come together as a health visiting community, listen to real experiences, learn about the current landscape of vaccination, and explore actionable solutions that can make a real difference for families.
This is a member-only event and we invite you to join us as we raise awareness and work together to increase vaccination uptake across the UK.
