Our Air- My Lungs: Respiratory Health Ambassadors Training Programme

Aim

To enable health visiting team members to become iHV Respiratory Health Ambassadors. Equipped with knowledge and understanding to become placed-based leaders in raising awareness of air pollution and its impact on health and chronic respiratory diseases in children under the age of 5-years.
Specifically:

• pre-term chronic lung disease
• asthma
• cystic fibrosis

Learning Outcomes

• To increase knowledge and understanding of air pollution and its impact on respiratory health
• To increase relevant knowledge and understanding of pre-term chronic lung disease, asthma and cystic fibrosis in children under the age of 5-years
• To support health visiting team members to become place-based leaders, with relevant tools and learning resources to:
  – raise local awareness of respiratory health in children under the age of 5-years with families and colleagues
  – continue professional development
