Healthy Weight, Healthy Nutrition (HWHN) (Phase 3) – Funded by The AIM Foundation
This project built upon the success of the previous grant we received from AIM in December 2018 to 2019, which enabled the refresh and redesign of our HWHN Health Visitor Champions training which had been developed and delivered in 2015/2016.
Three years financial support from the AIM Foundation enabled us to implement and embed a programme of work that:
- Extended the reach of the training and resources developed in 2018/19 to a wider group of professionals
- Enhanced and updated the training offered, ensuring it is up-to-date with the latest evidence and priorities and covers specific gaps in knowledge identified through previous work. This included additional resources for good oral health, strategies for support around feeding, physical activity, providing support to food insecure families, and providing more information to support the nutrition of preterm and sick babies and those with additional needs.
- Development of electronic resources supporting the sustainability of the resources, including a digital toolkit and webinars.
- Evaluation of the impact of the training and resources on the knowledge and confidence of practitioners and their work with families.
