Safeguarding supervision provides a structured discussion between supervisee and supervisor to support and advise on specific complexities and challenges within their caseloads. For safeguarding supervision to enhance safeguarding practice, accountability and responsibility is targeted to the organisation, the supervisor, and the supervisee. The aim is to develop competent, confident, professionally curious practitioners who work across all relevant agencies to support the best interests of a baby/child/young person/individual and their families.

Our programmes are suitable for single and multi-agency audiences across the UK and globally. This programme is two days in length. It can be delivered virtually or face to face.

What is Champions training?

The Champions model of training is excellent for sustainability and embedding subject-specific education in practice. Following training, the Champions can use resources provided to undertake a cascade of Awareness training to colleagues (where agreed locally).

The Champions programme also aims to support informal leadership and advocacy for the subject. Champions are intended to be advocates to promote the importance of safeguarding supervision across their workforce/scope of practice. Safeguarding supervision champions will be supported with a bi-annual network of practice/update delivered virtually.

Attributes of a Champion include: having an interest/role in safeguarding/safeguarding supervision, staff wellbeing, being a good communicator and having the confidence to promote the subject with others (or train from a lesson plan and resources), and being organised and able to contribute to initiatives being developed in their workplace or deliver small groups of awareness training (where agreed locally).
