This intensive and in-depth programme assumes extensive prior knowledge and experience in managing common settling and sleep issues and is therefore suited to experienced health visitors and those who have already undertaken practitioner level sleep training previously.
The masterclass uses group work and interactive learning strategies to explore the management of a number of complex issues such as: –
- Cow’s milk protein intolerance or allergy
- Separation anxiety
- Fears and phobias
- Obstructive sleep apnoea
- Restless Legs Syndrome
Other sleep disturbances and disorders will be touched on such as overcrowding, late settling and early rising, nocturnal eating and drinking disorders; deep sleep disturbances e.g. sleep walking, and sleep wake transition disorders e.g. head banging, cot or body rocking and the influence of attachment on sleep.
The day explores how to use a Compassionate Mind Approach (CMA) to support sleep deprived families. The CMA is based on Professor Paul Gilbert and colleagues’ work which promotes an evolution and neuroscience-informed approach to compassion to alleviate mental health difficulties and promote wellbeing.
Workshops can be commissioned for in-house delivery within your own organisation – or look out for open training events available at a venue in your region for group or individual booking.
