Participating in this training will equip the trainee to work alongside families over the following modules:
- Perinatal mental illness and why it matters
- Recognition and detection of perinatal mental illness
- Impact of parental mental health on the infant
- Safeguarding and risk
- Networks and pathways
- Everyone’s business: your role, communication and interventions
The module titles mirror the PMH Champions training programme. However, the pace of delivery, activities and depth of discussions varies due to the shorter duration of the training. Additionally, there is no cascade of ongoing training as this is a direct delivery programme.
More about the programme:
This programme has been accredited by CPD Standards Office.
“The training has helped give me confidence to ask women awkward questions relating to their mental health and sign post them to appropriate services for support after leaving hospital even if they currently have no concerns”
“I very much enjoyed this study day. It gave me more insight and tools to use, especially with my communication to sensitively listen and speak with women and broach the subject of mental health and ACEs”
“There was so much information given by the presenters that it was just above and beyond the aims. They were encouraging and supportive too of everyone. Thank you”
