The Institute of Health Visiting e-learning package on Disability Matters supports both newly-qualified and experienced health visitors in understanding some of the issues faced by families when they receive a diagnosis of disability or learning difficulty for their child/children.
We strongly recommend that you register with the Disability Matters learning community so that your learning sessions can be recorded in a personal learning account. Creating an account allows you to keep a record of your learning and to print certificates to evidence your learning.
Please note these e-learning modules are designed for health visitors who have already undertaken many years of education and training in nursing and/or midwifery as well as health visiting. They are designed to build on the theoretical underpinning that you use in practice, whilst refreshing and updating your practice.
Other members utilising the resources must do so within their own sphere of practice and within the jurisdiction of their employer’s vicarious liability. The Institute is not responsible for the application of these resources in practice.
