How to Manage: Neuromuscular Disorders in Children

Assessment of normal motor development in children is difficult enough, gait in a 1 year old differs from gait in a 2 year old. How do you assess then when gait is abnormal, what do you look for and what do you do if you think it doesn’t look quite right?

This one day course, run by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), will help you refresh your skills in assessing motor development in children. It will take you through all the stages of motor development (from head control to hopping)! It will show you what is normal but also what is abnormal (with lectures, plenty of videos, pictures and workshops).

They will provide you with a frame work of skills to recognise abnormal motor development and a plan of action for when you come across that child who seems to fall a lot or is a “late walker.”

PTC Therapeutics has provided the funding to make this course free of charge.
